Jeff began his journey in the meat industry at just 18 years old, working as a meat wrapper to help finance his education. Within six months, he enrolled in Safeway’s meat cutter apprenticeship program, gaining valuable experience at various Safeway locations across North Idaho and Spokane, WA.

His dedication paid off when he became the meat manager at the very store where he first worked as a courtesy clerk in 1991. Over the following years, Jeff successfully managed several meat departments throughout the region, always striving for excellence with his team. This commitment led him to the role of Meat Merchandiser, where he started with 12 stores and eventually oversaw a large region encompassing North Idaho, Eastern Washington, and parts of Northeastern Oregon. Jeff's extensive knowledge and leadership continue to drive success in the meat industry.

With over 20 years of experience at Safeway, Jeff brings a wealth of expertise in the meat industry. He has spent more than a decade as a buyer with Sysco Foods and has held key leadership positions, including Meat and Seafood Director at B&R Stores in NE/IA and Lucky’s Market, which operated 40 natural/organic stores across 12 states. He also served as Senior Meat Director at Festival Foods, overseeing 41 locations in Wisconsin, and as Sales Director for National Retail Accounts at Rocky Mountain Natural Meats.

Jeff's extensive background allows him to see the big picture in the meat industry. He’s dedicated to helping your business thrive, whether you're focused on boosting sales, reducing shrink, managing labor costs, improving gross profit, lowering COGS, extending shelf life, enhancing standards, or refining customer perceptions through better merchandising, service, fresher products, or improved packaging and branding.
